i'm making a calendar. wanting to make a chinese water color feel to it. need suggestions on what to improve as this will be printed and distributed =.=

well, there aint a lot of traditional styled art on dA. maybe i can try play around with this.

the big chinese character is 'ox'. ox having the same pronounce in chinese as 'turn', the 4 characters makes 'turn around the tides'. thus the yinyang sign in the background.
it is to hope that the new year brings a good tide.

in this moment i don't have suggestions =/
i thought that was marker before reading, is a great work with water color, besides water colors are a bit hard, also like the ying yang background

i didn't use water color. i just used water colored like brushes on photoshop which is a pain in the ass. ( )*( )
yeah. my lines mostly comes out like markers, especially black lines =.=

:) thanks. :) hahaha :)
but to tell the truth, this ox is rather thin for a chinese drawing. i've checked a few more famous drawings, they all exagerate quite a lot making the body a real huge rectangle. =.= got a lot to learn.
but i'm really glad that the effects of water color does come out when i lighten the whole piece into making a background for my calendar
