i'm making a calendar. wanting to make a chinese water color feel to it. need suggestions on what to improve as this will be printed and distributed =.= - well, there aint a lot of traditional styled art on dA. maybe i can try play around with this. - the big chinese character is 'ox'. ox having the same pronounce in chinese as 'turn', the 4 characters makes 'turn around the tides'. thus the yinyang sign in the background. it is to hope that the new year brings a good tide.
you can click "buy this print" on the right hand side. i'm sorry i couldn't get higher resolution anymore because it wasn't made in a higher resolution for the calndar. but it's small and cheap... i'm glad you like it.
I like it a lot, I have it framed and hanging. I'm a Taurus and also born in the year of the Ox. It's hard to find a depiction of a bull that doesn't show it looking beaten up or just plain scary. This looks just like I envision them, strong powerful, but with restraint. It's lovely. Beautiful work.
yeah. i thought the same about other ox drawings too when i was drawing this one. most of the drawings found on the net didn't have much power in them... so, i decided to draw my own. this is the most popular piece of drawing i have on dA. i'm quite proud of it too. i'm glad you like this drawing, and i'm happy that you bought the print from dA. though i got only 0.80dollars out of it... thanks again. happy new year to you.
Well, congratulations on your first sale! Did you ever consider selling on etsy? I buy a lot from there and I think you could get a much better deal. A whole calendar would be fabulous. But as far as my ox, I framed it alone. I think a bound calendar would be gorgeous though. But you'd have to do your own printing. Still I think you could get $25-$60 each image.

Happy New Year to you, too.
